The biggest change that Modi brought after becoming PM is the efficient use of Technology (esp.. Social Media ) in Governance.
- Narendra Modi has pioneered the use of modern technology in the working of the Government.
- He is using Technology like never before in Governance.
The following are the ways in which Indian government has used Technology to bring reforms:-
1) MyGov : help citizens contribute in governance by giving their opinions and views on important issues like clean river Ganga or skill development.
3.) Many programs such as Helping Women get Online, Indian SMEs Online and showcasing India’s rich heritage and culture have been started, which will promote the digital empowerment of citizens.
4) Additionally, to encourage digital literacy and Internet safety, Google is also introducing curriculum for schools, officials and elected representatives.
5) Track attendance of officials in the Central government.
6) 6 Mobiles Apps by Modi Govt. worth a download. Who could have imagine this during 10 years of Congress.
There are many examples..and the most recent one which drove my attention is this one where use of social media by Govt. Officials is superb.
A small, yet very accurate & efficient example is this..
- Recently, A woman passenger who sought help from none other than the Railway Minister as she was feeling scared of a male passenger!
Immediately, she tweeted this to the Railway Minister:
Then one of the senior officer named Ved Prakash, noticed that tweet and contacted him to help the woman.
Since, she had not given the full details about her train, she was asked this:
After that, she sent the PNR number and other details of the train.
To which, the Railway Ministry quickly responded:
As the train reached Bhusaval station in 40 minutes, she was immediately attended by RPF jawans.
Satisfied with the swift assistance, she thanked the minister. :D
- Who must have thought this some years back....that you can get help from Govt. by just an tweet.
- I doubt.
This is revolutionary and true use of technology by tech savvy Govt. i.e. Modi Govt.
